Currently, Emory is a programming coordinator at Visual Communications' 2018 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and a coordinator at A-Doc (the Asian American Documentary Network). As an assistant at the UCLA Center for EthnoCommunications, Emory has been working on the Lau Chinese American History Mini-Docs Project. In Fall 2018, Emory will begin the MFA Production/Directing program with a focus in Documentary at UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television.

As a UCLA EthnoCommunications student, Emory directed "The Weight Off My Chest," a documentary short about a college student undergoing top surgery and exploring the gender spectrum. The film will have its world premiere at the 2018 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in May.

MENTORSHIP

2018 STUDENT MENTORS

The Student Mentorship program was developed to keep Reel Voices students connected after each session. Each current participant is provided a Student Mentor that assist them in the production of their film. Student mentors are encouraged to support the development of ideas, production of film, editing and on-site assistance.

2018 PROFESSIONAL MENTORS

We have developed a group of awesome working professionals in the field for a diverse Mentorship Program made up of Southern California filmmakers, educators and artists.
